The town of Freeport, once known for its oyster industry, now brags about its Nautical Mile. While the seafood-gathering economy that built this village is gone, the eateries at the Mile feature things from the sea and in the south part of town. There is still resident fishing fleets and if you want to brave the Atlantic there are charter boats.

The Nautical Mile is a strip with 29 different restaurants to wine and dine at. When you reach the end of the Mile you are accompanied by a boardwalk with a breathtaking ocean view with many ships and boats sailing across the water.
